Sellersburg Celebrates! Brings
The Music of ELVIS and CASH
to A-Family-A-Fair

Sellersburg Celebrates! is pleased to announce its Main Stage show for Music of CashFriday night of this year's festival: “The Music of ELVIS and CASH” starring Robert Shaw and the Lonely Street Band. “ELVIS and CASH” is a critically acclaimed concert production that opens with the music of Johnny Cash, featuring the most popular songs from his nearly 50 year career. National touring and recording artist Robert Shaw (from the Chicago cast of Broadway's smash-hit musical "Million Dollar Quartet") and his Lonely Street Band will be playing your favorite Cash hits- from the early days of "Folsom Prison Blues" and "I Walk the Line" on through the decades, including "Ring of Fire", "A Boy Named Sue", and "Ghost Riders in the Sky." This act brings to life the authentic Cash sound that's been described as "steady like a train, sharp like a razor." The concert concludes with a salute to the music of "Young Elvis" belting out hits from the first part of his career, starting in the mid-1950's through the early 60's. This act kicks off with Elvis' first recordings at Sun Records in Memphis ("That's All Right, Mama," "Good Rockin' Tonight"), through his chart topping years at RCA records (Dont' Be Cruel," "Hound Dog"), and even highlighting the King's hits from his first movies ("Jailhouse Rock," "Love Me Tender"). This act is chock full of humor, hip-swiveling and toe-tapping fun!

Robert is a graduate of Silver Creek High School and grew up in Memphis, IN- a unique twist for an Elvis performer. He and his band have been touring their shows in a variety of venues all around the Music of Elviscountry including performances with the Louisville Orchestra at the Louisville Palace Theater, Sinfonia Gulf Coast Orchestra in Destin, FL, the Desert Pops Orchestra in Arizona and the Picnic at the Pops with the Bloomington Pops Orchestra in Bloomington, IN. Robert is currently performing “Man In Black- The Music of Johnny Cash” and “Heartbreak Hotel- A Salute to Young Elvis” every Saturday and “How Great Thou Art- The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley” on Sundays through October at the Palace Theatre of Brown County in Nashville, IN. He has also built a large regional following with his performances at Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville where he'll be performing “Good Rockin' LIVE!- A Salute to Sun Records” this November. Robert says “I'm excited that my first ever hometown performance will be at Sellersburg Celebrates! I remember having a blast as a kid at the first ever Sellersburg Celebrates in the Silver Creek parking lot, I never would have thought I'd be up on that stage someday. After traveling back and forth across the country for so many years, I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends, we're gonna have a great time.”
